The Village of Sauk Prairie could soon have a new Verizon cell tower on school property. The tower has already received approval by the Sauk Prairie Board of Education; however, many residents are unhappy about the tower being located on school grounds. According to the School Superintendent, “The next step is to allow for the local government to make a decision on the future status of the project. The Sauk Prairie School District will continue to lean and act with sensitivity, knowledge, and respect towards the comments and opinions regarding the Verizon cell tower project.”

If the project is approved, the district would receive $15,000 a year as rent from the telecom tenant. But what is the true value of this site to Verizon?
