A tower company has issued a proposal to construct a 160-foot cell tower on private property in Sanford, Maine. Many residents are unhappy about the plan, as they are concerned since the property is located in a conservation focus area. According to Sanford Planning Director, โ€œThe plan Mariner (the tower company) presented to the city was consistent with the comprehensive plan and land use in a conservation focus area, and that Mariner would have to obtain the necessary federal permits before the plan could go forward.โ€

If the Sanford City Council approves the tower companyโ€™s proposal, the landowner must seek proper representation to assist him throughout the lease negotiation process. Vertical Consultants has worked with all types of landowners who are being paid below-market value for the use of their property. The primary reason for this is the lack of information and representation provided for these entities. Ample information and representation from a true landowner advocate are key factors these industries need in order to optimize the use of their properties by the tower and telecom giants.
