A financially struggling church in the Boston area has received a proposal from a tower company to erect a tower upon the church parking lot. This added income would be an answer to its economic woes. However, as the church property is zoned residential, the cell tower must be approved by the County Zoning Board. According to Boston.com, “SBA Communications, based in Boca Raton, Fla., wants to build the tower and a wireless communications facility – for telecom giants Verizon Wireless and AT&T – in the parking lot of the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church.”
It is a blessing for a non-profit organization to receive a source of income, but what is the true value of the lease and use of the church’s property to the tower and telecom companies? Vertical Consultants can assist your church in exploring all options available to maximize the full value of your property. We have worked with non-profit organizations throughout North America.
