The Town Council has given first-round approval for the construction project of a new AT&T cell tower. The cell tower would stand at 60 feet high and would be disguised as a lamp-post and situated upon the local fairgrounds. According to Jackson Hole News and Guide, “The goal is to improve cell service in town, partly to help accommodate the increasing number of smartphone users logging on to the Internet and sending pictures, a contractor working on the project told the Jackson Town Council at a workshop last week.”

If the Planning Department approves the final application of the cell tower, it is pertinent for the municipality to seek counsel prior to signing any agreement with the telecom company. Vertical Consultants has worked with all types of property owners, including municipalities, who are being paid below-market value for the use of their property. The primary reason for this is the lack of information and representation provided for these entities.
