A farm in Barneston, Nebraska, is in the process of receiving zoning approval to have a new 235-foot cell tower constructed on part of its property. The tower would serve two purposes: to improve wireless coverage in the area, as well as house county emergency communication equipment. According to a representative from the tower company, “Highway coverage is very important now because people are constantly on their phone. The lack of landlines in the area also pushed the need for a cell tower.”
