A property owner in Spanish Springs, Nevada, will soon be landlord to a new cell tower on his property. The tower company plans on developing the cell tower in order to improve wireless communications for the area residents. As the spot that will house the tower is rather inconspicuous, there has been no objection to the plan. According to the tower developer, “The multi-carrier telecommunications facility will expand coverage areas for cell phones and broadband in Spanish Springs’ general rural residential areas.”
If the landowner receives final approval for tower placement, it is important that he is properly informed and represented prior to signing any agreement. He must make sure to receive the true value for the use of his land, including any revenue sharing produced from co-locator income.
