American Tower and DISH Network Corporation recently announced that they are entering into a master lease agreement. This agreement allows DISH to lease space on close to 20,000 American Tower cell sites, securing access to part of American Towerโs portfolio as DISH builds out its nationwide 5G network.
DISH will begin paying rent to American Tower in 2022 and grow as it further expands its network deployment. Another aspect of the agreement allows DISH to lease shared generators from American Tower on select sites, offering DISH the ability to use American Towerโs various pre-construction services, such as zoning and permitting.
In the past few months, DISH has been negotiating master lease agreements with a variety of independent tower companies, including Crown Castle, SBA and Vertical Bridge.
